What is Ultherapy?

Updated: Mar 22, 2021

This non-invasive treatment lifts and tightens your jawline and reshapes your face without needles or scalpels.

One way you can achieve slimming, tightening, and lifting is through Ultherapy, a non-invasive way to firm areas such as the chin, neck, brow and décolleté.

Ultherapy is based on the same technology used in radiology for ultrasound imaging (such as ultrasounds performed during pregnancy). The machine uses sound wave energy to penetrate the skin and reach the muscle of the area being treated.

The machine has multiple attachments available to allow for superficial, medium, and deep penetration. It causes the muscle to contract and shrink, which aesthetically results in a firming, wrinkle-smoothing, and contouring effect.

It's one of our most popular procedures because it is pretty simple to perform. There is no cutting or skin damage— post procedure, you get up and walk out. In the past, Ultherapy used to be a painful procedure, but new technology has been developed to improve the results and achieve the desired outcome without pain.

Ultherapy was approved by the FDA for noninvasive lifting back in 2009, and is very safe and effective for all types of skin.

What is the procedure like?

The procedure takes about 45 minutes to complete. First we apply ultrasound gel to the treatment area, then we use the machine to pass over the treatment area in three passes at different depths: 2 millimeters and 3.5 millimeters. The deeper you go, the deeper you are into the muscle, and the more contraction you get.

When performing the, your expert will use the device is a certain pattern recommended by the manufacturer. Imagine a diagram of a face with multiple lines that are parallel down the face—we simply follow that pattern.

Clients most often request Ultherapy for the jawline and neck, but it is effective around the brows and cleavage areas as well. Depending on your goal, an average of 1-2 times a year is required for maintenance. You age is also something to consider, as age impacts how your skin will respond. We can help you determine the treatment plan that is best for your needs.

What is the cost of ultherapy?

Ultherapy for full face and neck costs between $5500-6500, while a lower face and neck costs $3,800, and décolleté costs $2,500. While that price can vary across different locations, technician experience, and more, but you can expect $2,500+.
