At Stella Kim Artistry, we are excited to offer our clients skin rejuvenation with microneedling for the face and body
What is MTS Facial (Microneedling)?
Microchannel mesotherapy is essentially "Microneedling." The procedure is also known as ‘skin needling’ and is a nonsurgical treatment to stimulate collagen production by puncturing the skin with a medical device containing extremely fine needles. The procedure triggers the body’s natural healing process, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production. When collagen and elastin are produced, new skin is formed and the results are more firm with improved tone and texture, and minimized pores, blemishes, and scars.
What are the benefits of MTS Facial (Microneedling)?
Improves fine lines and deeper wrinkles
Reduces acne and traumatic scars
Softens stretch marks
Evens skin tone
Lightens hyperpigmentation and sun spots
Reduces appearance of pores
Firms and smooths skin texture
Brings back the glow for fresher, younger-looking skin
Acne/Redness before and after 2 sessions of Pearl Snow MTS facial
Visible under eye fine lines and wrinkles after 4 sessions of 24 karat gold MTS facial
This procedure uses the Korean-made Bomtech, the most advanced, FDA-approved, medical-grade, automated Microneedling device available. During the Microneedling procedure, topical serums allow the device to glide on the skin.
We offer three advanced topical infusions that can be used to enhance your results:
Glow Serum: The #1 favorite for all of our clients. This formula will even out your skin tone while it hydrates your skin inside and out. This serum is great for someone with sensitive skin and/or acne-prone skin. The active ingredients in the Glow Serum include:
Glutathione: a strong antioxidant that helps to brighten skin tone.
Polymerized Deoxy Ribo-Nucleotide (PDRN): derived from Alaskan salmon sperm (which is similar to human DNA) and helps to regenerate tissue and repair damaged skin from aging as well as UV rays. PDRN helps to build collagen and elastin while reducing wrinkles, fine lines and pore size.
Hyaluronic acid: a naturally occurring sugar molecule in the body that helps to deeply hydrate the skin. Hyaluronic acid can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water.
Pearl Snow Serum: Korea's plastic surgeons consider this serum a must! Pearl Snow Serum includes Medical grade brightening serum to make your skin as pure as snow. Pearl Snow Serum is recommended for someone with lots of dark spots or uneven skin tone. It's a great treatment after summer vacation, or even during the winter months.
24 Karat Gold Serum: This serum is known for powerful anti-aging results. 24 Karat Gold helps to create beautiful, glowing and youthful skin while simultaneously slowing down collagen depletion, increasing skin elasticity, lightening the complexion, stimulating the cells that make the skin firm, improving blood flow, and prevents premature aging/wrinkles as well.
Which Areas of the body can be treated with Microneedling?
Everywhere you see signs of aging, or to prevent aging and maintain your beauty.
Am I a good candidate for MTS facial?
Microneedling is a very safe and effective treatment to improve your skin, regardless of skin type. The depth of the microneedles can be adjusted to meet your individual needs and goals. Due to its low-risk profile, Microneedling is a good option for people who aren’t good candidates for lasers, such as those prone to hyperpigmentation. Microneedling is also very powerful for treating scars and stretchmarks on the face and body.
How is MTS Facial Performed?
First, we apply a strong topical numbing cream to the treatment area for optimal comfort. We then insert a new, sterile cartridge containing 12 Microneedles into the MicroPen and set the depth based on your skin’s unique needs.
Before, during and after the Microneedling procedure we apply your prepared PRP solution or a specialty serum to the treatment area to ensure it gets fully absorbed.
What does MTS Facial feel like?
Since we apply a strong topical numbing cream prior to the treatment, discomfort is significantly lessened. Microneedling feels like sandpaper being lightly moved across the skin.
How long does the procedure take?
We allow the topical numbing to work for 30-45 minutes, depending on your sensitivity. The Microneedling treatment takes 15-20 minutes for the face and body is really depending on areas. Afterwards, we apply a soothing peptide mask on the treated skin for about 10 minutes.
What is the downtime after MTS Facial?
The downtime is minimal with only 1-3 days of mild redness, dryness and light peeling, depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment. Using our post-treatment kit will help speed your recovery.
When will I see results after the MTS Facial?
You’ll notice an immediate glow and the tone and texture of your skin will continue to improve over the next few weeks. Collagen production will continue over the next six months.
How many treatments are needed for optimal results?
We recommend a series of at least three treatments approximately four to six weeks apart. A yearly maintenance treatment will help maintain your results.
How is the Micro-pen different from Dermal-rollers?
There are many ways in which the Bomtech micro-pen is different from an at-home dermal roller, mainly the needle depth, safety, speed and the results it is possible to achieve. To expand on that:
Adjustable needle depth: Dermal needling rollers are the first generation of needling devices. They have a fixed depth and can’t be adjusted to meet different skin needs. Bomtech has an adjustable needle tip to vary the depth of penetration throughout the treatment. We can now address the specific needs of your crow’s feet, lower eyelids, forehead, upper lip, cheeks and neck with a single needle tip instead of multiple dermal needle rollers.
Safer: MicroPen is safer than dermal rollers due to its sterile single-use surgical grade disposable needle tips. The unique features of the Turbo Safety Needle® of the Eclipse MicroPen provide greater efficiency and clinical results while ensuring the highest level of safety. Because the MicroPen works on ALL skin types, it’s a great choice for almost everyone.
Faster: MicroPen’s high-speed motor enables quick needle penetration. This provides a more comfortable experiences.
Better Result: Safety and control features produce predictable and consistent results.
How is MTS Facial different from Lasers?
When used correctly, skin resurfacing lasers can be a wonderful tool for treating aging skin. Lasers use a focused light to create heat that destroys undesirable pigmentation while stimulating collagen and elastin production. This results in tighter skin with improved skin tone and fewer wrinkles. Although lasers can be effective for many people, they are not ideal for treating patients with naturally darker skin (Fitzpatrick type IV and above). Since Microneedling mechanically breaks up the pigment and remodels collagen without heat, it can also provide a safer and more comfortable alternative to lasers.
Microneedling – MTS Procedure
Create micro-injuries for wound healing response
Treats through the epidermis down to deep dermis
Needle depth usually from 0.5mm-2.5mm
Needle size is 33 gauge
Numbing cream is required
1-2 days downtime
Because MTS Microneedling reaches the deep dermis, it makes it possible to treat acne and other scars by breaking up scar tissue and inducing skin remodeling. This treatment also requires strong topical anesthetic prior to the treatment to minimize discomfort.
Cosmetic Microneedling is performed only on the epidermis and does not penetrate the skin deeper than 0.3mm. Cosmetic microneedling can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, but is not an optimal treatment for acne scars or other deep scars.
Covered BB Glow Facial is performed using Cosmetic Microneedling and works ONLY on the epidermis.
The epidermis is influenced by cosmetic needling in the following ways:
Micro-injury to keratinocytes leads to release of several growth factors, which causes epidermal thickening.
Cellular cross-talk between the healthy keratinocytes and melanocytes leads to better distribution of melanin pigment.
It increases the delivery of the right ingredients to the depth of the keratinocytes and melanocytes.
Cosmetic needling achieves results through increased quantities and access of cell nutrients to the skin to optimize cell function. In addition, injury to the keratinocytes promotes epidermal growth factors (EGF) and increases cell turnover.
Cosmetic rollers or pens allow up to 80% more product into the skin, providing essential cell nutrients for stimulating collagen naturally.
Benefits of Microneedling vs other procedures
Shorter recovery with minimal downtime
Noninvasive, nonsurgical treatment
Suitable for all types of skin
Possible to combine with other treatments
Able to treat large areas in a small amount of time
Due to the needle length adjustment, Microneedling can treat different concerns and different areas at the same time
Long lasting results
